Andy Wilson, National Account Manager for Ledlenser UK, found interacting with retail staff exciting at Outdoor and Social.
Outdoor and Social is a three-day outdoor learning event, which started on March 11, 2025, at Newfold Farm, Edale, in the Peak District, following on from the inaugural event last year.
It is free of charge for retail staff and food and accommodation are provided.
Andy said: “It’s a great event. Obviously, it’s the second year now. I think year three will be even better as more and more people come in. There’s a really good support and following here.”
The purpose of Outdoor and Social is to teach retail staff how to use the equipment they are selling. In that way they have the technical knowledge to advise customers what best suits them and for what activity.
There is also a recognised certification scheme so they can gain a qualification at the end of the event.
Every retail staff member is given a progression report to confirm which course they have attended and if they complete them all they are awarded their certification.
Also, anyone staying at the event could camp out to further increase the outdoor experience.
Andy found that retail staff were really engaged with the brand. He said: “It’s quite exciting how much they already know, actually, and how passionate they are about the Ledlenser brand and how much more they want to know and their interest. It’s really good.”
The evening events, food, speakers and the chance to mingle with brands and retail staff in the main marquee was a big plus.
Andy added: “There’s a real good vibe. You know that the outdoor and running sector is phenomenal anyway, great people. So, it was only ever going to be great when they all come together.”
