Climbing sessions focused on kit familiarisation, delivered by the Mountain School UK team and climbing brand staff working together to familiarisation outdoor retail staff with the equipment. Practical and hands-on climbing session designed to demystify climbing kit and to thus provide better service and knowledge to there end customers.
Here is an idea of what you’ll learn, subject to change. Note: the below is just idea of what to expect, more information will follow as we move toward OAS26
- Gear overview: harnesses, helmets, ropes, belays, carabiners, quickdraws, and protective gear
- Safety checks: pre-climb inspections, knot tying, compatibility checks, and communication signals
- Donning and fitting: correctly wearing a harness and helmet for comfort and safety
- Equipment care: storage, inspection tips, and simple maintenance routines

- Hands-on practice with close supervision from experienced Mountain School UK instructors
- Small-group format to maximise individual feedback
