Beth Lambert, from Expedition Foods, was all smiles at Outdoor and Social 2025, where she led tasting sessions and connected with passionate retail staff.
Held from March 11–13 at Newfold Farm in Edale, right in the heart of the Peak District, this year’s event brought together more than 150 retail staff, 28 retailers, and 86 brands for an immersive few days of hands-on learning, product testing, and outdoor skills training.
Known globally for their premium freeze-dried meals, Expedition Foods caters to everyone from endurance athletes to mountaineers. Their meals—proudly made in Britain—include a variety of meals including vegetarian, gluten-free and ultra high-energy 1000kcal options.
Beth enjoyed the opportunity to showcase the brand’s meals at OAS25.
“It’s been excellent,” she said. “The staff ask really interesting questions. Many of them are familiar with dehydrated or wet meals, so it’s great for them to taste freeze-dried food and understand the difference—including the benefits.”

She ran tasting sessions in the event’s main marquee, offering attendees the chance to experience the texture, flavour, and convenience of freeze-dried meals firsthand.
“They asked me to come along and do the taste sessions, which has been really beneficial for me too—I’ve loved it.”
As for her accommodation during the event?
“I was camping in my car for the first time—new car, and it’s been lovely and cosy. I’m very lucky. I’d definitely come again next year and hopefully do more tasting sessions.”
