Nicole Walbran, Camping Sales Manager for Jetboil, says she got great feedback at Outdoor and Social.
Held at Newfold Farm, Edale, in the Peak District, Outdoor and Social is a three-day outdoor learning event, in its second year, which began on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
Outdoor and Social provided workshops and practical sessions designed to increase knowledge and confidence in outdoor products and skills through experience.
Delivered under the guidance of brands, experts and professionals it is completely free of charge to all retail staff and aims to help deliver better information to the consumer.
There is also a recognised certification scheme so they can gain a qualification at the end of the event.
Every retail staff member is given a progression report to confirm which course they have attended and if they complete them all they are awarded their certification.
Also, anyone staying at the event could camp out to further increase the outdoor experience.
Nicole said: “The event has been wonderful. All the retailers have been really excited about our new products that are launching and all the manufacturers have been awesome to talk to as well. So being outdoor and social has definitely been the main theme of this event.”
Nicole found that all the retail staff she interacted with were really receptive and engaged with what the brand had to offer.
She said: “They were super excited and really learning a lot about our products but then also giving great feedback as well.”
The evening events, food, interesting speakers and the chance to mingle with brands and retail staff in the main marquee was also a hit.
Nicole added: “It’s been a great way to get to know people in the outdoor industry that have like minds and that do the same thing that I do in different countries as well. Being from Texas. It’s nice to meet people that are from the UK. I would love to come again next year.”
